Hi there! I’m Snoopy and I’m here to tell you about the many ways you can give back this holiday season. I’m feeling particularly grateful as we wrap up November, which is National Adopt a Senior Pet Month, and head into December, which kicks off with Giving Tuesday on December 1.
Giving Tuesday is a day that encourages people to do good. It was created in 2012, and has since grown into a global movement that has inspired hundreds of millions of people to give back and celebrate generosity!

This Giving Tuesday, please consider donating to SVPP! Funds are used to help older dogs like me — and other homeless pets — get foster and medical care and find forever families. I was lucky enough to be adopted last year by SVPP volunteer Julie and I have a few friends who need homes, too. I would love for my fellow 15-year old Tootsie and her best buddy, five-year-old Precious, to find the same kind of loving furever home. Tootsie and Precious came to SVPP after being surrendered by their owner, who could no longer care for them due to medical reasons. Tootsie is house trained, gets along really well with other dogs (she currently lives with four dogs, including Precious, in her foster home!). She is loyal and laid back; she can be independent when her person is busy, but enjoys the company of her people and loves a ride in the car. She’s looking for a dedicated owner who can offer her and Precious the loving attention and care they deserve. Learn more about Tootsie and Precious here.

SVPP has several other adoptable dogs and cats – and many of them are older, wiser, and have even more love to give! In addition to adopting – or if you’re not quite ready to commit, but still want to open up your home – fostering a pet is a wonderful way to become involved. There are many ways you can support SVPP on Giving Tuesday and beyond. Here are a few suggestions:
Donate today or become an Angel Donor by donating monthly. If you’re employed, don’t forget to check to see if your company offers corporate matching!
After you shop at Target, vote for SVPP through the Target Circle program.
Purchase an item for pets in our foster program from our Amazon Wishlist.
Become a volunteer or a corporate ambassador.
