Hi, I’m Bowie and I’m thrilled to be chosen as the poster pup for this year’s Strut Your Mutt fundraiser. I’m following in the paw steps of Nino, who was our poster pup last year.

Strut Your Mutt is very near and dear to my heart, because not too long ago, I was a homeless and at-risk pup. I was found wandering alone near a highway and taken to a shelter, where I was diagnosed with kennel cough and an ear infection. I needed a comfortable home and loving foster parents to help me recover. Little did I know, my foster home would soon become my furever home! In May 2019, my future mommy and daddy, who had been waiting to foster a pooch through SVPP, took me in and I instantly fell in love. Just two months later, they decided to officially make me a part of their family, and named me after the legendary musician David Bowie.

I’m so thankful that SVPP connected me with my mommy and daddy, who have given me unconditional love and lots of happiness – and I think I’ve given it all back! Now, my days are full of fun times at the dog park, playing fetch and earning yummy treats. SVPP changed my life, and with Strut Your Mutt, we have a chance to help other pups like me who are in need of their own furever homes! Although we’ll be physically apart, this year’s virtual Strut Your Mutt is bound to be fun and engaging, all for a very important cause. Keep an eye out as I share my own Strut adventures on SVPP’s Instagram and Facebook!

In the meantime, visit SVPP’s Strut Your Mutt page to join the team or donate to help SVPP meet its fundraising goal of $20,000. Even the smallest donation can make a huge difference in a dog or cat’s life by allowing SVPP to provide them with medical care, foster families and forever homes.

I hope to “see” you all during Strut Your Mutt! Be sure to share stories, photos or videos of your rescue pets with SVPP by emailing strut@svpetproject.org
